** LIVING BY SPIRIT. Author Linda Chappo points out, "The advantages of awakening your spirit [include] find your purpose, know yourself better, have a better understanding of the human condition, enjoy a more fulfilling life, experience more harmonious relationships, diffuse worry, live in the moment rather than the past or future, feel a sense of the sacred within yourself, find your right livelihood, establish more inner peace and self-assuredness in your life, and develop intuition and unique insights." One of the insights Linda shares is: "Think of your mind as a conduit: a direct channel through which there are electrical charges flowing in both directions - to and from [Higher Power]. You use the conduit in two ways. Through prayer you speak to God and through meditation or quiet mental time, you listen to God."
** SPIRITUAL PATH TO DECISION-MAKING. One method is to use the God-Box. You write down something that is troubling you. You say, "God, I need Your help on this one," and you place the piece of paper into the nice-looking box. One woman reported, "I'm very happy with this. I put the paper into the box. A half-hour later, I got a call for a job interview. I introduced this method to my daughter."
** MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE. Marcia Wieder, best-selling author of "Making Your Dreams Come TrueŽ" made her dream of appearing on the OPRAH talk-show come true by telling people about her dream. She said, "A representative from OPRAH called my friend. The show was about women starting their own businesses, and my friend had the statistics about the seven million women business-owners in America. My friend told the representative about me, and the next day we were on a plane. It was just a process of sharing the dream and letting the magic happen." Movie Producer Lynda Obst ("SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE" and "CONTACT") talks about learning from experience and coming up with a new strategy. When she went to her employer Peter Guber (producer of BATMAN feature films), she said, "This is the best commercial idea. Take it or I quit because I'm not worth anything around here." Now after years of experience, she would say this powerful phrase: "Peter, for Writer's Guild minimum, I can get you a Bob Fosse musical."
** THE GREATEST PLEASURE IN LIFE. Author Hollie Lemarr likes the phrase: "The greatest pleasure in life is doing what others say you cannot do." For 20 years, she wanted to be an actress but gave in to pressure from her parents. Hollie says, "It made me a very frustrated, angry person, and I was so consumed by my frustration I blindly fell in line behind the next safe route fool." Then, she took the first steps: getting headshots, taking classes, going on first auditions. Hollie says, "When I did what others said I could not do, it gave me other opportunities.I am now at peace."
** WHAT YOU REALLY WANT. One method is to try new workshops and classes in the spirit of Trust. Remember that the universe supports you as you take steps in the direction of your dreams. Trust that everything you learned combines in unique ways to help you climb the steps of your spiritual path to fulfillment.
