Women, Spirituality and Marketing

(a brief excerpt from the audio program: Who Says Marketing Can't Be Spiritual: Feel Good about Marketing and Get Results)
Many of us have told others and ourselves: "Ugh! I don't like selling. I hate marketing." We're seeing business cards that don't read 'salesperson,' instead they proclaim "Business Development Consultant."
For years, in my workshops, I've used the phrase coaching to action as a reframe of the word 'selling.' A coach helps you do what you want to do. She provides the boost of encouragement and the dash of wisdom you need. The coach provides a service; and service is the keystone of many spiritual practices.
Who says marketing can't be spiritual? Perhaps, a parent has complained about 'pushy salespeople.' Perhaps, one person persuaded someone you know to get an item that was not top quality.
*Now* let you and me declare our new form of marketing. Let's uncover
methods so that we can align marketing with our life purpose and personal spirituality.
TIP #1: Be Truly Helpful
A spiritual phrase I have heard is: "I am here only to be truly helpful." The basis of spiritual marketing is helping them to know how you can help them. Focus on how you can serve people.
TIP #2: Start Helping Them Already
Begin your relationship with someone who can become a client by helping the person. For example, many people order my free special report Power Time Management: Gain 2 Hours of Productivity Each Day. Recently, one person said, "I have your mini-poster next to my computer for easy reference." She then engaged me for two hours for a special consultation. My poster helped convey my expertise.
TIP #3: Gently Connect with Them 5 Times
Find multiple ways to gently connect with new people. For example, you can use 1) an E-newsletter, 2) an article, 3) a workshop, 4) a free special report, and 5) an e-mail message.
TIP #4: Ask for Guidance; Take Action Based on Intuition
Meditation and prayer help many people open themselves to helpful ideas from the universe. It's crucial to take action based on your intuition. For example, this audiotape program [Who Says Marketing Can't Be Spiritual] came to me as a flashing idea -- and I'm taking action here. It has been reported that the name Chicken Soup for the Soul came in response to a prayer. About 3 AM, Jack Canfield woke up to a landslide of ideas including 'Chicken Soup for the Spirit [later changed to 'Soul'].'
TIP #5: Celebrate Abundance; Reward Yourself for Your Efforts
A spiritual approach includes nurturing yourself so that you have the
energy to keep reaching out to new people. For example, each time you take action, reward yourself. After I finish this E-newsletter, I'm going to devote time to reading an uplifting book.
TIP #6: Practice Gratefulness Rituals
Feeling grateful is a spiritual state of being. Develop a daily
Gratefulness Ritual. For example, you can use my practice of
'Affirm-Breathing.' 1) Choose an affirmation - like 'Thank you [Higher
Power] for new ideas of how to reach people,' 2) Breathe in and repeat the affirmation in your mind, 3) hold your breath and repeat the affirmation twice in your mind, 3) breathe out - for the duration of repeating the affirmation twice in your mind.
Marketing is:
- reaching out to people
- showing them how you can help
- and helping them make a decision.
Spiritual marketing is:
- starting with the purpose of helping
- beginning the relationship by helping already
- acting upon intuition
- practicing gratefulness
Blessings on your journey.
